You can view the maps on your smartphone while you're running - a dot will show your location on the map.

- Tap on the route name - if you're on a smartphone select "go to mobile version" and wait for the map to load.
- On the map, tap on the "full screen" icon (broken square on top left, just below the zoom buttons +/-)
- Tap on the "show my position" icon (arrow, just below the full screen icon) - select "OK" if your phone asks permission to use your location.
- Optional: The most uncluttered map is "Mapquest". To show, tap on the "paper stack" icon (top right hand side) and select "Mapquest".
- Zoom in/out by pinching the map.
GPX File with smartphone app:
You can download the map files (GPX) and use a smartphone app which will give a better experience than the above method. There's a link to download the GPX file on each of the above maps. The Trail running SA "Recommeded way" has more information.
